Hey! I'm Cynthia Osorio
A college student, lifelong learner and emerging life adventurer.
Here’s My Story
I am a diligent College student who has consistently been praised as hard-working by my teachers and managers. During the course of my academic career, I also managed to accrue nearly 1 years of work experience. I had the privilege of working for 025th District Chicago Police Department in a youth district advisory council leader role in my free time, where I learned valuable professional skills such as community outreach, organizational leadership and strategic planning. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I apply proven leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Introduction
Community Service:
Throughout my years I have been volunteering in multiple places around my community in Chicago. Grace and Peace church along with multiple food drives and bake sales. This has helped me expand my knowledge of multiple things and it has helped me become more open-minded. Community service is very dear to me and I always try to be involved in something new every month! It is important to me because I have seen how a plate of food and how a simple conversation can change the life of others and my own too. I have built multiple bonds with people I have met at food drives and I've seen what it looks like to go from having nothing to living comfortably. Words cannot only change someone's life but they can push them to be the best version of themselves.

Leadership Reflection
I have had the job title of a leader. When working for the Chicago Police Department my job title was Youth District Leader for the Advisory Council of Chicago. I worked with youth and police officers, trying to reconnect youth with officers and seeing the good in being part of CPD. The purpose of this was to get the youth off the street and off criminal activity. Working with kids at the YMCA was also a great experience. Not only did I get to work on my patients but I also got to work on the psychological aspect of it. Being a leader means listening to problems and working through things. I have learned so much about myself and about how my resources but I have learned how to open doors for myself and I have learned how to pay closer attention to others' values and ideals. Not only has my leadership helped me cross borders but it has helped me understand other cultures. This summer I went to Jarabacoba, Dominican Republic where I helped filter water for underprivileged communities and helped cheer on other communities.
